AIT 50-GB tape delivers high capacity high reliability and high performance in a small form factor. With optimized information access features the AIT 50-GB Advanced Intelligent Tape Drive extends capacity and performance where DAT tape technology ends. AIT is designed to handle the ongoing explosion of data storage requirements. Advanced Metal Evaporated media aids in providing a tape drive that needs minimal cleaning and virtually no head clogging. This drive has a mean time before failure (MTBF) rating of 300 000 hours at a 30 percent duty cycle. If the AIT 50-GB drive is used eight hours a day seven days a week (33 percent duty cycle) the heads are rated to last over 10 years!
